Shot in Belgrade, Serbia in June of 2021. At the time I pitched this it was the largest directing opportunity I'd been given, and I'm grateful to Bill, Dustin, and Thom for trusting me and giving me a very long leash. I was allowed to significantly revise and expand the script, and had fun raising the stakes and silliness of the "we listen to our customers" arc as far as I could. As part of the client brief, we were required to feature an actual QuickBooks accounting pro and were lucky to work with the "world famous" Seth David. His irreverent personality allowed us to integrate the product message in a more natural way. When I suggested that the "401k" line might sound more natural if we integrated an exasperated "freakin" he was immediately game, and that idea ended up being a callback that solved for the heavy handedness of the "Now it features..." line at the end. It even made it into the client cut!
Thanks to our incredible team in Belgrade for a flawless production, and to my wife Rebecca for supporting this project at every stage, traveling with me to Serbia, and being by my side the whole way. Special thanks also to the great Chris Catanach for the edit and Platige for the VFX.
